This engaging course is designed for students in Grades 5-6, Gr.7-8 and Gr.9-10, focusing on developing critical reading, writing, and oral communication skills through an immersive exploration of literary analysis. Each week, students will engage with short stories, unpacking key literary elements and devices to deepen their understanding of texts. Through structured comprehension strategies and vocabulary-building exercises, students will refine their ability to analyze and interpret literature thoughtfully.

The course emphasizes a dynamic reading-writing-oral approach. Students will participate in a range of activities, including comprehension and application exercises, as well as various oral and written communication tasks. In-depth and comparative literary analysis will challenge students to think critically and articulate their insights with clarity and confidence. Collaborative class discussions provide a platform for sharing interpretations, fostering academic expression, and building self-assurance in articulating ideas.

By the end of the course, students will have strengthened their analytical skills, improved their academic communication abilities, and developed a more nuanced appreciation of literary works.
