Dr. Zhao is a TESL Ontario certified language instructor with a doctorate in Second Language Education from OISE/University of Toronto. Over the last two decades. Dr. Zhao has worked with students from diverse linguistic and cultural background in secondary, post-secondary, and adult education, in China and Canada.

During her time as graduate student and researcher at the University of Toronto, she was also one of profile readers for the Initial Teacher Education Programs and has read over 800 application profiles over the years.

 

When working a mentor/guidance counsellor with international high school students, she has helped her students successfully obtained offers from top universities such as University of Toronto, McGill University, UBC, Queen’s University, University of Waterloo, and McMaster University.

Over the last four years, together with Ms. Jenny Zeng, co-founder of Wells Academy, Dr. Zhao has focused on providing quality education to students in Canada, China and beyond.
